  1. What is webmail?
Webmail is a server based application that allows to retrieve your mails from any computer connected to internet, contrary to client based applications such as MS outlook express.

  2. My mailbox is locked!
It is because you have left webmail without explicitly logging out. Please try to login a few minutes later by letting webmail automatically logout.

  3. I've got an indecipherable message!
Webmail tries to read the header part of the message and adapt the display setting according the found encoding method. When webmail doesn't found any encoding method, the message will be displayed with "unicode" encoding. Please fix manually the encoding method if this solution happens to be wrong.

  4. How to send French (German) messages?
Any messages written with Roman alphabets should be processed as if it would be English one.

  5. How to type Japanese messages on non Japanese Windows?
If you prefer to use webmail version instead of applet version, you can download Microsoft IME, for MS Explorer browser. You can also download Kanjikit 2000, demo version, for both MS Explorer and Netscape browsers.

  6. May I process messages other than Japanese or English?
Webmail is able to read all the language messages as long as your browser supports them and the message headers specify the used encoding method. For unspecified messages or newly created messages, you can process Chinese, Korean, Arabic and Russian languages.

  7. I've got Ill-formed message exception or parse exception errors!
When a message includes executable, activeX or wave files, it provokes frequently such an error. You can safely discard it because most of them are virus infected or spam messages.

  8. One of my correspondents is unable to send emails to hikyaku account with the message "you are in a blacklist".
In order to protect hikyaku users, we establish statistics on the number of emails each server sends per day. If it surpasses a certain threshold, we put this server on our blacklist so it becomes impossible to send us emails. In order to remove it from our blacklist, the server administrator should contact us by giving a justification.
