I am currently in Japan but will be returning to the UK this summer. I want to be able to continue editing a couple of Japanese web pages after I get back, when I will no longer have access to a Japanese PC. I use Notepad (English Windows 98) for English HTML editing but it doesn't support Japanese characters, even though I have the Microsoft Global IME installed. Can anyone recommend a text editor (preferably free) which supports Japanese characters? |

Dear Sir or Madam, you can edit Japanese web pages on English Windows with Kanjikit which is compatible with the most of text editors and web editors such as Dreamweaver, Frontpage, MS word. The demo version is available at http://www.flsw.com/japan/kankit2g.htm Don't forget to add the following metatag to your Japanese web page to declare that it is effectively written with Japanese characters. <META HTTP-EQUIV="Content-Type" CONTENT="text/html; charset=Shift_JIS"> Best regards, |
